Membership Information
The Wisconsin Chow Chow Club, Inc. was formed in 1936 by
people interested in promoting and protecting the Chow. Our
membership is made up of people from all walks of life who share their love of this
unique breed. Most of the members live in the Madison and Milwaukee areas but we have
members in Illinois as well.
Our club is open to reputable Chow breeders,
exhibitors, pet owners and people simply interested in the Chow Chow.
We meet between 4 and 6 times a year to plan activities, share
information and socialize. Our meetings are informal and usually held
at a member's home followed by a potluck dinner. Most
meetings are held in the southern Wisconsin and Milwaukee areas.
Some of our annual activities include sponsoring an
annual specialty show for Chows and
participating in local dog fairs and exhibitions to help educated the
public about our breed. We provide a breeder referral service to put
people in touch with reputable breeders and we're always there to give
advice on care, grooming, showing, training and responsible breeding.
We also rescue abandoned Chows and find them new homes via the Wisconsin
Chow Chow Rescue Program.
To join, first email or phone the club secretary for
a membership application and a copy of the club's bylaws. Your
application will be need to be sponsored by two club members.
The best way to find sponsors is to come to a meeting and introduce
yourself! Once you have sponsors, send your completed
application along with annual dues of $10 per member to the secretary.
New applications are read at two consecutive meetings before approval.
