December 10, 1999:  The electrical service was upgraded to 200 amp which required the installation of a new power cable from the pole at the south property line to the house. 

Unfortunately, the poor trees took a real beating and the elm in the upper photo is probably not going to survive. 

Westphal Electrical Contracting did the job.   They had a rough time with it because their trencher (lower photo left) broke down and it was a couple more days before they could bring in a backhoe to finish. 

After the electricians ran the cable, it was time for the power company to install a new power pole and transformer.
